The UC Santa Barbara Library has developed the DtM cataloging tool, which provides availability of MARC records for most of the 78rpm discs documented in the Discography of American Historical Recordings (DAHR). The tool was created with funding from the Packard Humanities Institute, which funds DAHR.  78 rpm discs in libraries and archives are under-described and many of the largest collections are still only partially cataloged. The DtM tool will help libraries catalog many items in their collections even if the cataloger doesn’t have particular expertise in the format. We will discuss background, scope, and the development of the tool; the presentation will also include details pertinent to cataloging workflow and a demo.
