Engaging with Open Educational Resources

Open Educational Resources (OERs) are a growing area of interest for colleges and universities. With the cost of textbooks growing at an alarming rate, open textbooks are one example of open scholarship that can benefit students and faculty alike. Other examples include open syllabi, lectures, and presentations. What is the role of the music librarian in this movement? What support is available for OER advocacy and development? What are the best tools for finding music OERs? How many and which types of OERs are available now? This presentation explores these and other issues surrounding this emerging area of open pedagogy.
